Hi everyone... it's Sweet Treat Thursday over at Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot and I'm bringing you a little inspiration using the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge. These really are simple to make, using the bear cut and the scalloped heart cut. For this votive candle holder I wrapped the rim with layered Core'dinations, pink on brown. The pink layer is embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder. I then wrapped it with dotted pink ribbon and attached my bear and layered hearts. (Descriptions of how I made the bears and layered hearts below)
This box is a cut from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. I put layers of Swiss dot embossed Core'dinations on the side panels and some paper on the top, as well as on the heart closure itself. Usually this box is left where it opens at the heart top, but my preference was to let it open at the bottom so I attached another cut heart on top. I then attached my bear and layered heart, finishing it off with the pink dotted ribbon.
The card is very simple. A layer of red cardstock, and a layer of Swiss Dots embossed brown cardstock, stitched around the edges. Dotted pink ribbon at the top. The bottom has 2 strips of Swiss Dots embossed pink Core'dinations. I then attached my bear and my layered hearts.
The Bear: Shadow cut red, regular cut brown (debossed with Swiss dots), pink layers (only used belly). Inked all edges. Added heart to belly. Liquid pearls for inside ears, eyes and nose. I didn't have black liquid pearls so I colored the eyes and nose after they dried with a black Copic marker.
The Layered Hearts: Cut several scalloped hearts, decreasing size by 1/4 each time. With the exception of the smallest heart on the top, I scored and folded the others down the center, gluing them together at the folds. I then placed glue on the backside edges of the top heart and glued it to the assembled folded hearts. Added liquid pearls around the edge. Thanks for stopping by!
