A Wedding ensemble. A fair amount of work, but certainly worth it.
All Cricut images and flowers are sprayed with coordinating shimmer spray before assembling or embellishing.
Flowers and leaves -The larger flower is quilled using the large petal die from the Daisy Quilling Kit.
Smaller flowers are quilled using 1/2 of a cut from the small petal
die. Cut and finger shape leaves. I made 7 smaller flowers and 1 large
flower. I cut several leaves, using them where I liked on all
components of this set.
Dragonflies -: Cut and assemble layers adhering only along body and antennae so that the wings are loose. Add
green rhinestones down body.
Start with a card base of 7 1/4 x 5 3/8. Emboss cardstock using the Brocade Window and Lace Door Embossing Plus folders (note that you place your paper ‘good’ side down in the folder).
Before removing the cardstock from the embossing folders, lift the
film to reveal the embossed areas and spray with shimmer spray.
Blot away the excess spray and remove the paper from the folder. The folder can be cleaned up with a wet cloth or baby wipe.
Trim the Brocade Window piece down to 5 x 7 and layer onto a piece of 5 1/8 x 7 1/8 green and place the small cutout from the Lace Door folder in the center. Stitch around edges and adhere to card base. Trim the Lace Door frame embossed piece to 3 7/8 x 5 3/4.
I adhered the door to the card front by using Glue Arts foam tape, trimmed into 1/8″ strips. Add flower, leaves, dragonfly and sentiment.
Cut all pieces and spray with shimmer spray before assembling cake.
Measure the depth and diameter of the candle for a strip of paper to cover around it. Mine is 3/4 x 5.
Adhere strip around candle first, then frosting layers around top and
bottom of this strip. Glue scalloped circle with the hole in it on the
bottom using a strong liquid glue.
Make tiny snips around the hole in the other scalloped piece to allow
it to slide over the flame easily. Place this piece on top of the
candle and shape the edges downward.
Add leaves and flowers with hot glue. Add dragonfly and rhinestones.
Measure distance around bubble bottle and cut a 3/8″ strip of paper
long enough to go around. Adhere to bottle, add leaves, flower and
my particular glass stem I cut two 1/4 x 1 3/4 pieces of cardstock and
wrapped them around the stem, adhering the ends together with Glue Arts mini glue squares. I then added the leaves and a flower.
Toss in a some confetti hearts and I think you have a lovely display
for a wedding table! I hope you can use one or all of these ideas for
your next wedding, shower or party.
